Second Parent Adoption
Second Parent Adoption became legal in Colorado in August 2007. If a child residing in Colorado has a sole legal parent, another qualified adult can see to adopt that child. Colorado is one of ten states in the nation that has second parent adoption. It assures that a child will have two parents who can provide for him or her.
